The latest news about the six-time champion and Basketball Hall of Famer, though, is a bit of a low point. In layman’s terms, he’s suing a grocery chain that dared congratulate him in an advertisement that also sold a few steaks. He rejected a demand from Jordan's attorney that the president of the grocery chain also appear"I think it would be a constructive use of time to see whether some element of sanity cannot be introduced into this matter," Shadur was quoted as saying in a transcript of a May 22 hearing."I thought the demand was greedy," Shadur said of air jordan retro Jordan, who is seeking $5 million in damages for a one-page ad that ran in a Sports Illustrated commemorative issue celebrating Jordan's induction into the Hall of Fame.Jordan was able to sneak into the courtroom after a legal battle pitched by MJ’s representation, hoping to keep the most prominent member of this lawsuit away from the proceedings. Weddings performed during and immediately following the Middle Ages were often more than just a union between two people. They could be a union between two families, two businesses or even two countries. Many weddings were more a matter of politics than love, particularly among the nobility and the higher social classes. Brides from wealthy families often wore rich colors and exclusive fabrics. It was common to see them wearing bold colors and layers of furs, velvet and silk. Brides dressed in the height of current fashion, with the richest materials money could buy. The poorest of brides wore their best church dress on their wedding day. The amount and the price of material a wedding dress contained was a reflection of the bride's social standing and indicated the extent of the family's wealth to wedding guests.
The woman to the far right is wearing a typical wedding dress from 1929. Until the late 1960s, wedding dresses reflected the styles of the day. From that time onward, wedding dresses have often been based on Victorian styles.
The first documented instance of a princess who wore a white wedding gown for a royal wedding ceremony is that of Philippa of England, who wore a tunic with a cloak in white silk bordered with grey squirrel and ermine) in 1406. Mary, Queen of Scots,bridals wedding dresses wore a white wedding gown in 1559 when she married her first husband, Francis Dauphin of France because it was her favorite color, although white was then the color of mourning for French Queens.
This was not a widespread trend, however: prior to the Victorian era, a bride was married in any color, black being especially popular in Scandinavia.

Today, Western wedding dresses are usually white[4] though "wedding white" includes shades such as eggshell, ecru and ivory.
Later, many people assumed that the color white was intended to symbolize virginity, though this was not the original intention: Lace Wedding Dressesit was the color blue that was connected to purity, piety, faithfulness, and the Virgin Mary.
Many wedding dresses in China, India (wedding sari), Pakistan and Vietnam (in the traditional form of the Ao dai) are red, the traditional colour of good luck and auspiciousness. Nowadays, many women choose other colours besides red. In modern mainland Chinese weddings, the bride may opt for Western dresses of any colour, and later don a traditional costume for the official tea ceremony.

While the wedding itself is often based on the couple's choices, the wedding banquets are a symbolic gesture of "thanks" and appreciation, to those that have raised the bride and groom (such as grandparents and uncles) and those who will continue to be there to help the bride and groom in the future. White is used, because in Japan it symbolises death—in this case, the bride becomes dead to her family. The bride will eventually remove her white kimono to reveal another colored one—usually red—to symbolize her rebirth into her husband's family.
The Javanese people of Indonesia wear a kebaya, a traditional kind of blouse, along with batik.
In the Philippines, variations of the Baro't saya adapted to the white wedding tradition are considered to be wedding attire for women, along with the Barong Tagalog for men. Various tribes and Muslim Filipinos don other forms of traditional dress during their respective ceremonies.

Nike graphic designers are holding another fund-raising event -- the Nike Graphic Studio Poster Show. The one-night only event will be held from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at Disjecta, 8371 N. Interstate Ave., in Portland.The first show was held in early 2011, Cheap Nike Free Runco-founded by organizers Christopher DeGaetano and Eugene Serebrennikov. Both of them answered questions by email about the upcoming show.
What is your role with this show and previous shows?
The Nike Graphic Studio Art Shows are a team effort with all members actively contributing in their own individual way. Since our first show in early 2011, our goal has always been to harness the collective creativity of our design team and give back to the local community via a charity. For this show, our fourth, we are showcasing our work on posters to help raise money for CHAP (Children’s Healing Art Project).View full size

The show chooses a different charity each time. How was CHAP chosen?
Part of our mission for each show is to inspire and give back to the greater art community. As their website articulates, Nike free run 2“CHAP brings the healing power of art to life in 3 ways: In-hospital healing art programs, Art Club and Outreach." Having worked with the children of CHAP motivated us to take a larger role in supporting this program.
Some basics on the show: How many artists? Pieces of art? What kind of work can be expected to be on display?
Here in the Nike Graphic Studio we treat each T-shirt like a canvas. Each graphic is truly a piece of art. The Nike Graphic Studio Poster Show is a retrospective of some of the most compelling t-shirt graphics to come out of the Nike Graphic Studio over the past four years. For this particular event we are showcasing our work using posters as our canvas. There will be 60 posters exclusively available and limited to the night of the show only.
